Amemiya brings 25+ years of engineering, sales, marketing, technical support (or field applications and solutions engineering) and business unit management experiences within the semiconductor, image sensor, LCD, PWB and electronics component industries under the multi-cultural and multi-national working environment.
Most recently he served as chief strategy officer at FICT Limited (former Fujitsu Interconnect Technologies Limited), owned by a private equity fund as a spin-off from Fujitsu Limited. Prior to FICT, he served as corporate vice president, Japan sales & marketing at ON Semiconductor and president & representative director at ON Semiconductor Japan for 2013-2016, where he upgraded the sales, marketing and technical support organization and strengthened the customer and distribution partner relationship as sell as led a significant transformation in sales behavior that was critical to achieving revenue growth in Japan and outpaced the competition in all focused segments. Before ON Semiconductor, he was heading the sales, marketing and technical support teams at Fairchild Semiconductor Japan as country manager for 2010-2013. He also held engineering, technical support, marketing, business development and business unit management positions at Texas Instruments (TI), where he successfully led a $600M analog, mixed signal and logic businesses as a business unit general manager as well as a member of executive operating team for the Japan entity for 2004-2009. Before Texas Instruments, he held various engineering, marketing and project management positions at International Business Machines (IBM) in Japan for 1989-2003.
Amemiya earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Aoyama Gakuin University in 1987 and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Aoyama Gakuin University in 1989 and holds a few patents in the area of liquid crystal displays.
