Tomonosuke Katagiri (Tom), Vice President, is a member of BlackRock Solutions Aladdin Client Engagement (Relationship Management) Group within BlackRock. He is responsible for expanding BRS business and managing/enhancing the relationship with the clients in APAC region by providing industrial/financial market thought leaderships, consultancy services, solutions , project management services and trainings to global asset managers leveraging BlackRock's investment platform Aladdin - a technology platform that covers the full investment process across asset classes.
In addition to Aladdin realationship management role, together with Head of APAC BlackRock Solutions, Mr. Katagiri is responsible for building new digital technology strategies and digital technology businesses to transform and encourage retail money to flow from savings into investments by leveraging BlackRock’s capabilities including digital technology platforms and by partnering with local institutions.
Mr. Katagiri's service with BlackRock began in 2013 as an Analyst in the Aladdin Solutions Center within BlackRock Solutions, where he was responsible for assisting Aladdin clients with daily business process support and service bureau requests.
Prior to joining BlackRock, in 2010, Mr. Katagiri started his career as a business analyst/IT consultant at Nomura Research Institute, where he was in charge of multiple backoffice system implementation projects for Japanese buy/sell-side firms expanding their international business. Mr. Katagiri was transferred to Hong Kong in 2012, at Nomura Research Institute Hong Kong, serving both front and back office IT projects for global sell-side firms.
Mr. Katagiri was born in Tokyo and spent 4 years in Cote d'Ivore during his elementary school days.
Mr. Katagiri earned a BS degree in engineering (Computer Science) from Waseda University in 2008, and an MS degree (Computer Science) in engineering from Waseda University in 2010.
